It may not look exactly the same, but it should perform equally well. When a part is designed to be made through MIM from the start, there's no reason that it can't be as durable and strong as an equivalent part made from wrought stock. Sometimes a part can't be converted to MIM without redesigning some aspects of it to maintain the same durability, but that doesn't stop those who cut corners from trying. I believe it's that slight loss of density that sometimes creates problems when a part designed to be made from a forging or from wrought bar/plate is converted to MIM without thoroughly analyzing the stresses that the part undergoes. I thought that was pretty awesome and a rare find, so I reached out to Remington to confirm it and they are saying that my serial number puts it as a 1950 model.but then the guy said only the first two letters on the barrel determine the actual manufacture date, but this barrel clearly has an E, than a space, and then MM together.which according to the chart is 1942?
